fenced in by a group of buses

One of the first things that they tell you in martial arts is that if you get attacked, it's safer to run away. Don't stand your ground and fight because the other person could have a weapon or could have more skill in fighting. Run as fast as you can, and make a lot of noise to alert other people to the situation if you can. This will hopefully discourage your attacker and you'll be safe and they'll be safe.

The practice of randori takes place where the practitioner is locked in physically in a space. It's usually done in a dojo where the action is limited to the space provided by the mats. If I'm going to create some outside environments, I have to create some barriers that make sense, so it still creates the feeling that the player can't just run away. This would either be through natural terrain (mountains, trees, bushes, etc.) or through man made objects. For a big bridge, it was a little hard for me to figure out what to block the bridge with until it dawned on me that it's a big tourist area and they've got some interesting looking tourist buses there. Here's a picture of the inspiration and the resulting models made by the modeler.
